Thank you for sharing your talent and expertise with DCPS for the 2016-2017 School Year! We are excited to launch this school year with two incredible days of content-based professional development sessions.

Returning ESL Teacher Training Grades K-5

Participants will be able to:
• Navigate ELLevation to analyze ELL data and produce reports
• Discuss how to use ELLevation data to plan for instruction
• Plan for instructing newcomer ELLs using Big English I and alternative materials for newcomers aligned to the DCPS ELA units

Deborah Maatta has worked with DCPS as an ESL Teacher, ESL Teacher Trainer and Project Coordinator for 20 years. She specializes in differentiating instruction for ELLs at both the elementary and secondary level.
