Thank you for sharing your talent and expertise with DCPS for the 2016-2017 School Year! We are excited to launch this school year with two incredible days of content-based professional development sessions.
Participants will be able to: • Connect with the Framework for Arts Learning through experiences that highlight core themes • Relate the new DCPS Arts curriculum to their current practice and explore opportunities for implementation and connections • Experience key concepts of one unit of study through small group activity, focusing on the structures of the unit design template and dimensions of learning • Understand LEAP opportunities and Professional Learning Communities
Participants will be able to: • Develop PLC culture by exploring how a growth mindset creates motivation and success in school • Through the use of Close Study, develop strategies for engaging in the cycle of practice and feedback within PLC’s • Closely examine a unit of study within an aligned Development Cycle and engage in collaborative lesson planning strategies
